The site has been moved to a new host, but due to complications with the old host the database for the message board was corrupt. After 4 days for working almost around the clock, we have restored the forums. Let's give a big Panther's Planet shout-out to Madison for her restless efforts to rebuild the database! Way to go girl!!! |

The Panthers off-season continues in full swing with the recent additions of former Seahawk WR D.J. Hackett, and former Cardinal & Lion S Terrence Holt. Hackett is a promising young receiver who should bolster the receiving core by giving quarterback Jake Delhomme a second legitimate option in the passing game. Hackett has had some minor injury concerns in the past but given his upside and the low amount of the contract, it's not as though we're mortgaging the farm on him. He signed with Carolina, but also drew interest from Tampa Bay and Washington, as well as having his former club looking to re-sign him. Holt is a North Carolina native who played at N.C. State where he made a reputation for himself at being quite adept at blocking field goals and punts. Terrence originally was a 5th round pick of the Detroit Lions, whom he played for 4 years before signing with Arizona last off-season. The Cardinals released him late last month in a salary cap move. Panthers Scout Potential Draft Picks |

The Panthers staff has been racking up frequent flier miles the past week or so looking at several potential draft picks. They've been to Vanderbilt to scout T Chris Williams, Florida to scout Derrick Harvey, as well as attending several other team pro days, and having a private workout with Delaware QB Joe Flacco. Who knows where all the miles will lead to come April 26th when the team makes their selection with the 13th overall pick. |
